THE PATTERN
I created this sewing pattern during the Covid-19 lockdowns. I wanted to create a top that is comfy to lounge in at home, but still feels more dressed and put together than a PJ top. Something you can wear for lazy days at home and also wear to go outside and get a coffee. Because let’s be honest, we all need those takeaway coffees to get through these lockdowns.
The Molly pattern comes with two views, one with long sleeves and one with short sleeves. The neckline features a beautiful mock neck and the front and back hem are curved, creating that gorgeous point at the bottom of the side seam. The dropped shoulder seam gives the top a relaxed look.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Medium to heavyweight knit fabrics with elastane, lycra, or spandex content are best suited for this pattern. I like the look of the top with stiffer knit fabrics, as it holds its shape much better. Medium to heavy weight cotton/viscose/merino wool jersey and Sweater fabric, french terry, scuba knit
